Koh Wai is located at only twelve kilometers south of Salakphet Bay, Ko Chang, east of Koh Khlum and north of Koh Rang. It is with ten kilometers wide quite a large island, easily reached from Ko Chang by boat with several accommodations available in the form of bungalows. Forget about mobile phones, forget your busy life home and just relax at this brilliant red sanded island. There is only electricity during the evening and mosquitos are always present so bring heavy insect repellents.
The sand is redder and not as white as its neighbouring islands, which results in better and healthier coral reefs. This is the only place which is still relatively untouched and not yet fully explored. Exploration dives are still possible here! The island is renowned for its fishing and excellent dive sites following the reef along its north-western bay. You will find some beautiful patches of hard coral reef, shallow snorkelling sites, some rays, resting leopard sharks and reef sharks. Other characteristics are its suddenly appearing strong currents and its perfect conditions for a great night dive.
