Ko Phi Phi Lae is the southern smaller island of the two islands and means Phi Phi of the sea. It is a very nice green uninhabited island with some excellent vegetation, steep cliffs, wildlife, natural caves and water filled canyons. It offers tourists a whole range of spectacular outdoor activities, especially when sleeping on its northern brother Ko Phi Phi Don
Diving around Phi Phi Lae is one of the prime attractions as well of course. It has excellent healthy clear waters, some very good coral coverage and a vivid prolific underwater habitat. Offshore dive sites such as Ko Bida Nok and Ko Bida Nai have made diving famous around the island. Shore dives inside its bays are spectacular as well with Maya Cave being one of the most popular. Ao Losama is a fantastic bay to the west of Phi Phi Lae and became famous when Leonardo di Caprio shot parts of his move 'The Beach' there.
