Ko Yawabon has a fifty meter long swimthrough which goes literally through the island.

Ko Yawabon is one of the very small uninhabited islands or rocky outcrops in between Ko Phi Phi Don and Krabi. It is famous because it has with fifty meters the longest swimthrough in the area. Starting at six meters deep, you can actually swim from one side of the island through its main tunnel system to the other. Entering swimthroughs this large is more like basic cave training and we strongly advice to be proper trained or instructed before entering. The ocean turns black once you enter this overhead environment making it likely to bump into sharp objects or the ceiling.

Inside the cave you will find some small critters such as lobsters and crabs. Outside you can spot groupers, clownfish, leopard sharks, parrotfish and lionfish, eating from the nearby connected reef. Most tours from Krabi visit Ko Ha and Ko See and leave Ko Yawabon to what it is, tours from Phuket pass Ko Yawabon on their way back.

This was a great drift dive around part of Ko Yawabon. I found a clownfish and tried to touch his home, the sticky anemones. But this clownfish was fierce and started biting me. You could feel it pretty well for a 5cm small fish. For the rest we saw a lot of common reef fish and a huge moray. A great dive though.
