Siam Bay is like Bungalow Bay one of the western bays perfectly sheltered from the currents and winds. It offers excellent diving during Thailand's dry season from October to May. It has ample marine life, many patches of excellent acropora hard coral reef and a small mini wall that gradually descents into the center of the bay.
Thailand's government decided to add several real sized concrete statues at the north end of Siam Bay in 2006 after the tsunami of December 2004. The statues are placed a short swim from the coral edges and can be reached directly by using the mooring lines. There are two statues of an Indian elephant, of which one has its ear filled with the home of a white-eyed moray eel. There is a Thai style temple with a gate guarded by Yak, a mythical Thai figure that protects the gate from evil spirits. There is a pergola or pavilion, a giant sea clam or oyster shell and some other giant cubes dropped there to create an underwater amusement park. All are separated from each other by six to seven meters and cannot be missed. The statues make fantastic photo opportunities and you can continue swimming around, through and over the cubes.
