The Gulf of Thailand is not the best place in Thailand to go diving, but it still has some very nice dive sites. It also has a completely different diving season compared with its western neighbor the Andaman Sea. So when diving conditions are great in the Andaman Sea, diving sucks in the Gulf and other way around. The Gulf is targeted by the monsoon between November and April and many dive sites can be inaccessible then. Outside this season diving is great with September probably being the best month to dive.

Water temperature will exceed 28 degrees most of the time. The best diving in the gulf is around Koh Tao. Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngang offer diving as well, but they seem to become more touristy areas in stead of world class diving locations. However this is also a good and cheap place to start a dive course or take a refreshment course.

We have since became the premier dive school for technical and pro dive courses on the island.

Our first shop in the lively town of Haad Rin was recognized for achievement and awarded PADI 5 Star status in 1993. In May 1999 Phangan Divers was further recognized for dedication and professionalism and was upgraded to become the first Instructor Development Centre on Koh Phangan. Our Instructor Training Courses have been running frequently ever since with a 100% pass rate ! In the year 2000 we were one of the first dive schools in Thailand to introduce Nitrox and a little later we started Technical dive traning here on Koh Phangan . Since then we have continued to lead the field in innovation in the dive industry. In 2004 we diversified to offer SSI and BSAC courses to compliment our PADI diver training to ensure that you are able to pick the course that is the right fit for you. Having an Instructor Certifier on the staff indicates a five star commitment to offering professional level training and continuing education opportunities to existing dive professionals.
