The monsoon season from May to October is the best time to visit Staghorn Reef on the east of Ko Racha Yai. It is a brilliant drift dive along large coral bommies mystically silhouetted on white sand. You will drift along a nice wall in the twenty to thirty meter range covered in fire coral and staghorn coral, hence its name. Huge groups of juvenile barracuda's are well adapted to divers and will accompany you throughout your dive. You can also spot baby white tip reef sharks, huge moray eels, triggerfish, twin-spotted snappers and several types of rays on the bottom hiding inside the white sand. The coral almost reaches the surface towards the south end of Staghorn Reef, which makes this side a long time favourite for snorkeling.
